Furry Sex Toys & Furry Sex Dolls: An Honest Guide

The furry fandom is a community built around anthropomorphic animal characters — many fans create a fursona, a personal animal character of their own. Search for furry sex toys or a furry sex doll, though, and the results jump between three very different kinds of product with little to tell them apart.

We make one of the three ourselves, so the section about our own plushies is not a neutral one. The rest is a straightforward description of the category, including things we do not sell.

1. Fantasy silicone toys

This is what most people mean by furry sex toys: dildos and strokers sculpted on animal or creature anatomy rather than human. The best-known maker is Bad Dragon, based in Phoenix, Arizona and trading since 2008, known for dragons, horses, orcas and werewolves in platinum-cured silicone. There are smaller independent sculptors too, many selling in limited runs.

What you are buying is a well-made, body-safe toy in a fantasy shape. It is made for use rather than for keeping around, and it does not try to be a companion — which is exactly right if that is what you want.

2. Furry sex dolls and torsos

A furry sex doll is a full or partial figure with animal features — ears, muzzle, tail, sometimes printed or flocked fur. Torsos are the more common format: a heavy, part-body piece rather than a whole doll. Most come from overseas manufacturers, priced from the mid hundreds into the low thousands.

Material is the thing to check. Platinum-cured silicone is non-porous and can be cleaned properly. A lot of the cheaper end is TPE, which is porous: it has microscopic channels that no amount of washing reaches, so it has a limited usable life even when it still looks fine. Listings that do not name the material are worth asking about before you order. They are also large, heavy and hard to store discreetly, which matters more than the photos suggest.

3. Plush companions with an SPH

The third option is a real plush toy — a wolf, a fox, a feral Pokémon — rebuilt by hand with an SPH, a Strategically Placed Hole with a removable insert. These are made by individual makers rather than factories, so quality varies more than in the other two categories. The best are carefully finished; the worst are not.

The appeal is that it is soft, huggable and discreet. You can sleep against it, and when it is closed up nobody visiting would think twice. For a lot of furries that is the point: a companion with the character's shape and feel rather than a toy that lives in a drawer. This is what we make, and there is more on it below.

Materials and safety

One distinction does most of the work: porous versus non-porous. Non-porous materials — platinum-cured silicone, glass, steel and coated nylon — have nowhere for bacteria to sit, so washing the surface genuinely cleans them. Porous materials — TPE, jelly rubber, PVC, anything sold as a "silicone blend" — cannot be fully cleaned at home. Use water-based lubricant with silicone and with our nylon inserts; silicone-based lubricant slowly degrades silicone toys. For cleaning and sharing, the NHS covers whether sex toys are safe. Wash after every use, use a condom on anything shared, and check regularly for splits.

What we make

Fushy sits in the third category. We take existing plushies and rebuild them by hand in the UK with a waterproof pink nylon SPH, roughly 18cm deep and 8cm across on our larger pieces, sized to work with or without a sleeve-style toy inside. Your fursona, as a plush

A fursona plush is one of the most-asked-for things in this space. Here is honestly what we can and cannot do. We can modify any plush that already looks like your character, including one you have had made elsewhere or one you send in to us. What we do not do is sew an original character from scratch — for that, the usual route is to commission the plush from a dedicated plush maker and then have us add the SPH.
