Pokémon-Inspired Adult Toys: What's Actually Out There

People searching for Pokémon sex toys tend to find one of two things: a product drop that has already sold out, or a news article from several years ago. Neither tells you what is currently available or whether it is worth buying. We make one small corner of this category ourselves, so the section about our own plushies is not a neutral one. The rest is a straightforward description of what is available, including options we do not sell.

Broadly there are three things people mean by the term, and they have almost nothing in common beyond the fandom.

Fushy is an independent maker. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or licensed by Nintendo, Creatures Inc., GAME FREAK or The Pokémon Company. Character names are used descriptively.

1. Character-shaped insertable toys

The best-known are the parody-named silicone toys made by an Australian studio, sold in occasional limited drops rather than kept in stock. They use an altered spelling of the franchise and changed character names. The line first appeared in 2016 — Vice covered its launch — and returned in July 2026 with collector cards at around $400 a piece.

What you are buying is a body-safe silicone dildo in a stylised shape. If that is what you want, it is the most professionally made option in the category by a distance. What it is not is a companion; it is made for use rather than for keeping around. It also sells out quickly and can then be unavailable for months, which is worth knowing before you settle on one.

2. Dolls and figures

A number of overseas manufacturers list character-styled dolls, usually in TPE rather than silicone, in the mid hundreds to low thousands. This is the part of the category where we would suggest the most care, for practical reasons.

TPE is porous. It has microscopic channels running through it that cannot be cleaned out, no matter how carefully you wash the surface. That is a hygiene limitation rather than a preference about materials, and it means a TPE item has a limited usable life even if it still looks fine. Listings in this part of the market are also often vague about what the item is made from. If a listing does not name the material, it is worth asking before you order.

3. Modified plushies

The third category is an ordinary soft toy that has been opened up and rebuilt with an insert — what the community calls an SPH, a Strategically Placed Hole. These are almost always made by individual makers rather than companies, which means quality varies more than in the other two categories. The best are better made than anything mass-produced; the worst are poorly finished.

The appeal is straightforward. It is a full-size plush you can sleep against, and the modification is not visible when it is closed, so it works as an ordinary object in a room. This is what we make, and there is more on it below.

Nobody in this category is licensed

This affects you as a buyer, so it is worth stating clearly: none of this is official merchandise. There is no licensed adult Pokémon product and there will not be one. Everything described above is fan-made or parody, sold by independent operators.

That has practical consequences. There is no warranty behind any of it and no central body enforcing quality. Sellers can and do disappear — sometimes because a business fails, sometimes because of a rights complaint. Nintendo's enforcement has historically focused on people using the brand as their own identity rather than on descriptive fan work; the clearest example is the streamer who was required to rebrand after a cease and desist over her trading name. It remains an unpredictable area, and it is sensible not to assume a given seller will still be trading in a year.

In practice: buy from a seller with a visible track record and genuine reviews, on a platform that can step in if something goes wrong, and be cautious about paying outside one.

Materials and safety, across all three

One distinction does most of the work here, and most listings leave it out: porous versus non-porous.

Non-porous materials — medical-grade silicone, ABS, borosilicate glass, stainless steel, and coated nylon — have no microscopic channels for bacteria to sit in, so washing the surface genuinely cleans them. Porous materials — TPE, jelly rubber, PVC, anything sold as a "silicone blend" — cannot be fully cleaned by any method available to you at home. That is the main reason some items in this category have short usable lives, and it applies regardless of what you paid.

On lubricant: use water-based. Silicone-based lubricant will gradually degrade a silicone toy, softening the surface and leaving it tacky, because the two are chemically close enough to interact — the overview of lubricant types explains the mechanism. Water-based is compatible with silicone, nylon and condoms, at the cost of drying out and needing topping up.

On cleaning and sharing, the ordinary rules apply and are worth reading rather than guessing at: the NHS covers whether sex toys are safe and the risks around different activities. Wash after every use, wash between partners, use a condom on anything shared, and check regularly for splits — a damaged surface is one that can no longer be cleaned.

What we make

For transparency: Fushy sits in the third category. We take existing plushies and rebuild them by hand in the UK with a waterproof pink nylon SPH, roughly 18cm deep and 8cm across, sized so that it works comfortably both with and without a sleeve-style toy inside it.

The insert is fully reversible — it pulls out and turns inside out, so the whole surface can be cleaned rather than just rinsed. Given the points above about porous materials, that matters: it is the difference between something that lasts for years and something that does not.

Choosing between them

The Eeveelutions share a build, an insert and a set of measurements, so the choice between them is mostly aesthetic. The differences worth knowing: Flareon carries the most fur and is the nicest to sleep against, though it sheds a little early on. Jolteon is firmer and holds its shape, which suits people who want something that sits up rather than slumps. Glaceon is 60cm with a smooth, brushable coat that is the easiest of the range to keep clean. Umbreon is also around 60cm and dark-coated, and is the one to pick if space is tight or you would rather it did not draw attention. Meowscarada sits apart from the Eeveelutions: at 80cm it is the largest we make, and the most striking to look at.
