Cookie Policy
Cookieless by default, Google Analytics only if you say yes. Here is exactly what is stored.

The short version
We measure traffic two ways, and they are treated differently.
- Cookieless counting runs by default. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and cannot identify you. You can switch it off below.
- Google Analytics is optional and does use cookies. It only runs if you accept the banner. Decline and no Google cookie is ever created.
We run both because the cookieless tool sees everyone while Google Analytics only sees people who opt in, and comparing the two tells us how far off the Google figures are. Nothing on the site changes based on what you choose.

Only the last two are cookies. The first four are stored by your browser, are never transmitted anywhere, and exist so the site remembers choices you have already made.
Cookieless analytics
We use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool. It sets no cookies, creates no persistent identifier on your device, does not follow you between websites, and collects nothing that identifies you personally. It records the page viewed, the site you arrived from, your country and your general device type, and aggregates that into counts.
Because nothing is stored on or read from your device for this, and the data is not shared or used to track you across sites, we do not consider prior consent to be required. You can switch it off at any time:

Google Analytics
Google Analytics 4 gives us a more detailed second view, and it needs cookies to work. We use Google Consent Mode: before you choose, analytics storage is set to denied and no Google cookie is written. Accepting switches it on; declining leaves it off until you change your mind.
We do not run ads and have not enabled Google Signals, advertising features or data sharing for advertising. Google describes its own handling in the Google privacy policy.

- No selling or sharing of data for marketing.
- Nothing optional is set before you agree to it.
Controlling storage in your browser
Every major browser lets you block or clear cookies and site storage. Doing so will also clear your age confirmation and your analytics choices, so you will be asked again. Nothing on the site will stop working.

If we add anything else that sets a cookie, this page and the banner will be updated before it goes live.
