The short version
We set nothing optional unless you agree to it. Decline the banner and no analytics cookies are created, no analytics data leaves your browser, and the site works exactly the same.

The first three are not cookies in the technical sense — they are stored in your browser, are never transmitted to us or to anyone else, and exist purely so the site does not repeat itself. We consider them strictly necessary, or in the case of the shop notice, a preference you set yourself by dismissing it.
Analytics, and what we use it for
If you accept, we use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages people read and how they found us. We use it to decide what to write and what to fix. We do not use it for advertising, we do not run ads, and we have not enabled Google Signals, advertising features or data sharing for advertising purposes.
We use Google Consent Mode. Before you choose, analytics storage is set to denied, which means no analytics cookies are written. Accepting switches it on; declining leaves it off permanently until you change it on this page.

Controlling cookies in your browser
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies and site storage through its settings. Doing so will also clear your age confirmation and cookie choice, so you will be asked again. Blocking all storage will not stop you using the site.

If we add anything that sets a cookie, this page and the banner will be updated before it goes live.
